CLARA 'KELLY' A. BARNES, 83 ROCKFORD - Clara "Kelly" A. Barnes, 83, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, peacefully in her home, with family at her side. Born Aug. 10, 1929, in North Dakota to Thomas and Clara (Helgeson) Thompson. Clara was a teacher in the Rockford Public Schools for more than 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed many arts and crafts especially quilting and knitting. Clara enjoyed planting roses in her garden with her grandchildren. She had a talent for recovering and refinishing furniture. She also enjoyed traveling and visited many different countries. Kelly, as her friends knew her, was a generous and creative person who will be missed by her family and friends. Survived by children, Andrew (Katie) Daniel (Sherri) Foth, Mary (Randy) Jackson, Amanda (Steve) Lenox; grandchildren, Sue Ellen, Nathan, Caleb, Jennifer, Samantha, David, Kenneth, Robert, Joseph, Rachel and Erin. Predeceased by parents and nine siblings. Memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Forest City Fellowship, 1300 17th St., Rockford.
