Daniel Hart

DANIEL WILLIAM HART, 64 ROCKTON - Daniel "Whiskers" William Hart, 64, of Rockton, IL died Wednesday, November 6, 2013, in his home. He was born December 24, 1948, in Hillsboro, WI; the son of Gerald and Theresa (Huschka) Hart. Dan graduated from Rockford West High School, Rockford, IL in 1967, and he received his Associates degree from Rock Valley College, Rockford, IL. Dan was a Vietnam War veteran who served in the United States Army. He married Candy Gilmore on February 26, 1977, in The Church By The Side Of The Road, Rockton, IL, and renewed their vows on August 4, 1984, in St. Jude Catholic Church, Beloit, WI. Dan was employed by Chrysler Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 2005. Dan was a past Commander and an active member of the Rockton American Legion Post #332. He loved to help people and he was a great story teller who enjoyed camping in Door County, fishing, and riding his Harley. Dan was a member of the Beloit Rifle Association. Dan was a family man loving his wife, children, and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Dan will be remembered for many things, but he will always be remembered for his catch phrase: "Alrighty then." Survivors include his wife, Candy Hart; three boys, Danial A. Hart of Rockton, IL, Nathan A. (Kathleen E.) Hart of Palatine, IL, and Shane A. Hart of Rockton, IL; two grandchildren, Aiden A. Hart and Kennedy G. Hart; mother, Theresa Hart of Dyer, IN; siblings, Lewis (Laurie) Hart of Loudon, TN, Jerry Hart of Montreal, WI, Clara (George) Meissen of Rockford, IL, Mary Martelli of Dyer, IN and Jeff Hart of Klute, TX; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and nephew, Patrick Meissen. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013, in St. Jude Catholic Church, 737 Hacket St., Beloit, WI 53511, with Fr. John Hedrick officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.
