darwin l. miller, 86 HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. - Darwin L. Miller, 86, of Hot Springs Village passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012. He was born July 19, 1926 to John W. and Florence M. Snyder Miller. He graduated from Belvidere (Ill.) High School in 1944. He was a World War II veteran and saw action in the Asia-Pacific Theaters. He then graduated from Bradley University, Peoria, Ill., with a B.S. degree in business administration, Class of 1950, and while there he was a member of Theta Xi fraternity. Darwin was employed by Elco Industries for 33 years. While at Elco in Rockford, Ill., he was vice president of manufacturing and a director of the company. Of those last five years, he served as president and general manager of Acme Rivet Co., in Bristol, Conn. Darwin was a director of Rockford Red Cross and Family Consultation and was elected trustee of SwedishAmerican Hospital before moving to Connecticut. He was married in October 1951 to Audrey Tice, and then married Otistean McGuire in 1977. Survivors include daughters, Linda R. Miller and Marianne R. (Sam) Marlow of Rockford; grandchildren, Sean A. Marlow (fiancée, Grace E. Moone) of Milwaukee and Emily M. Marlow of Rockford; sister-in-law, Mary L. Miller of Belvidere; and nephews of Frederic, Wis. Predeceased by wife, Otistean in 1998; brothers, Boyd L. Miller and Wayne P. Miller; and parents. Celebration of life memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in Gordon Chapel, Second Congregational Church, 318 N. Church St., Rockford, with visitation from 1 p.m. to time of service; the Rev. Fred Knauss will officiate. Burial at a later date in Johnston Cemetery, Reyno, Randolph County, Ark.
