Dorothy Glick

DOROTHY LUCILLE GLICK ROCKFORD - Dorothy Lucille Glick, loving mother, grandmother and "GG" great-grandmother, passed on to peace May 3, 2013. Born November 30, 1929 to John and Sadie Houck in Woosung, IL. Married Phillip Glick on April 29, 1950, celebrating 60 years of marriage at the time of his death. Dorothy was a kind and compassionate woman with a sweet and gentle spirit and a friend to all she met; her life was truly a gift to everyone that was blessed to know her. Dorothy's passion in life was loving her family and she filled their hearts with such joy. Not only was Dorothy a wonderful mother, but also a great friend to her daughter, Nita. She was a cherished grandma to Eric (Nichole) and Chad (Melody) for her inspiration and wisdom. She was the greatest "GG" Great-Grandma to her great-grandchildren, Skyeler and Kylie. She was so excited about the birth of great-granddaughter, Addison Lucille who was born May 7, 2013, as she knew she was being honored with Addison sharing her middle name. Dorothy had 12 siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces/nephews. Siblings were always so happy to talk with their loving sister. Nieces and nephews admired "Aunt Dorth" and they remained close through the years just to feel the magic of her love. Peace is yours now and celebrate the reunion with the love of your life. She is survived by daughter, Nita Osbern; grandsons, Eric (Nichole) Tewell and Chad (Melody) Tewell; great-grandson, Skyeler Tewell; great-granddaughters, Kylie Tewell and Addison Tewell. Predeceased by husband, Phillip Glick; parents; sisters, Mary, Darlene and Patricia; brother, "Ber"; niece, Trina; and son-in-law, Jerry Osbern.
