E. WILLIAM WELDEN, 83 ROCKFORD - E. William Welden, 83, of Rockford passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Nov. 9, 1929, in Rockford, son of Earl A. and Vernie (Salisbury) Welden. Bill served in the U.S. Navy. He married Donna L. Carlson on Feb. 11, 1984, in Rockford. Bill was a self-employed electrical contractor for Welden Electric Company. He attended Salem Lutheran Church. Bill was a member of IBEW, National Electrical Contractors Association, Masonic Order 166, Tebala Shrine, Scottish Rite Bodies, Beloit Rifle Club, and a life member of the National Rifle Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. He is survived by wife, Donna of Rockford; son, Bradley (Vicky) Welden of Rockford; daughters, Sherry (Tom) Kindred of Mountain Home, Ark., and Tammy Falzone of Rockford; stepson, Brian (Suzanne) Shimaitis of Durand; grandchildren, Todd (Sue) Kindred, Greg (Kathy) Kindred, Ryan (Rachel) Welden, Jamie Lynn Welden, Mychal Welden, Paul Welden, Jeremy Falzone, Lyndsay Falzone, Ashley Falzone, Brandon Falzone, Madison and Samantha Shimaitis; 15 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents; brother, Robert Hughes, and recently brother, Richard Welden on Dec. 31, 2012. Memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main St., with Bradley Welden officiating. Private family burial.
