HAROLD F. 'DEE' JOHNSON, 88 DURAND - Harold F. "Dee" Johnson 88, of Durand, IL died at 6:15 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, in Medina Nursing Center, after a brief illness. He was born September 16, 1924, in Durand, IL; the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Mary (Erickson) Johnson. He graduated from Durand High School, class of 1942; enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in WWII in the South Pacific for 3 years. Married to the former Reva J. Bliss in Durand, IL on May 11, 1946. Harold farmed the family farm all of his life. Attended Durand United Methodist Church; member of Durand American Legion Gold Star Post #676; VFW; Winnebago County Farm Bureau. Survivors include wife, Reva; daughter, Diana (Larry) Prevett; son, Steve (Deb) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Kathy Johnson, all of Durand, IL; grandchildren, Jon, Ben, Dan (Georgiena) Prevett, Mike, Luke (Lena), Paul Johnson, Julie (Jim) Zielinski, Shane (Wendy) Johnson, Stacy (Dan) Pitman, Derek (Carrie) Johnson; several great and great- great-grandchildren; brother, Ray (Fran) Johnson of Brodhead, WI; sister-in- law, Evelyn Johnson of Durand, IL; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; son, James; one great-grandchild; 2 brothers, Glen "Putter" and Walter Johnson. A visitation will be held at the McCorkle Funeral Home - Durand Chapel, 101 Main St., Durand, IL on Tuesday June 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. Private family funeral ceremonies to be held.
