June Williams

JUNE ANNE WILLIAMS GALVESTON, Texas - Christ welcomed a true patriot on Sunday, March 16, 2014. June Anne Williams was born June 29, 1957, in Moline, Illinois. She was the third of four siblings born to Boyd and Violet Keesy. June was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Rockford, Illinois. Upon graduation, she proudly enlisted in the US Army and served in the USA and Landstuhl, Germany. After her service to our country, June earned an A.S. degree from Rock Valley College and a B. S. degree from the University of Illinois in Microbiology. She moved to Galveston during the summer of 1985, and began working in the Histocompatibility Lab at UTMB. There she matched kidney donors with recipients. June married Johnny Williams on September 18, 1988. She and Johnny had two daughters, Jillian Anne and Shannon Alexis, whom she cherished. June returned to school and earned a Pharmacy degree from the University of Houston in 1997. She worked as a Pharmacist for UTMB, Albertson's Texas City, Kroger's Webster, Randall's Webster, and Sam's Club Texas City-La Marque. June loved her patients and went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure their health and comfort. June looked forward to going on long walks with Jillian and Shannon, always offering words of encouragement to them. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, and traveling with her two daughters. June loved gardening, camping, reading, bowling, darts, backgammon, watching Fox News channel, and shooting at the gun range. However, the real apple of her eye was her grandson, Justin. He came to her home every weekend and stayed with June and Johnny. The one thing Justin most liked was baking and decorating Christmas cookies with his grandmother. June attended Pine Drive Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship with Pastor Ted and the congregation there. She woke at 6 a.m. every morning to read the bible and pray before going to work. June is survived by her husband, Johnny; her two loving daughters, Jillian and Shannon; her loving grandson, Justin; her siblings, Fred Keesy, Janis Alfini and husband, Jeff, Joyce Gibbons and husband, Rich; sister-in-law, Rosalie Mierzwa and husband, Michael; and many great friends and relatives.
