Kenneth Kluge

KENNETH B. KLUGE, 90 ROCKFORD - Kenneth B. Kluge, 90, of Rockford died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at home. Kenneth was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Golconda, son of Fred and Sophia (Volle) Kluge. Lived in Rockford the past 67 years, coming here after he proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a decorated WWII veteran in the American and European Theaters of Operation. He married Margie Lucille (Alley) Kluge on Oct. 11, 1947, in Rock Island. Kenneth retired from Abar-Ipsen in 1989. Kenneth was a member of Venetian Club, Rockford, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9759, Loves Park. He is survived by son, Kurt (Rebecca) Kluge; daughters, Carol (Loras) Salamone and Karen (Howard) Dean; grandchildren, Bryant Salamone (Maria DiGirolamo) and Sarah Kluge. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by wife, Margie L. Kluge; brothers, Paul and Hubert "Jack" Kluge; and a sister, Francis Werner. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, and visitation from 10 a.m. to service time at Chapel Cremation Society of Illinois, 6825 Weaver Road. Burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Golconda.
