KENNY HITCHCOCK, 60 ROCKFORD - Kenny Hitchcock, 60, of Rockford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at home, surrounded by family. Born on July 30, 1953, in Detroit, MI to Sidney and Vanella Hitchcock (Jordan). He attended Finney High School in Detroit. Kenny married Kim Darnell in Detroit on Sept. 20, 1974, and had resided in Rockford for 25 years. He was employed as a Quality Control Auditor for Chrysler Automotive for 31 years. Kenny served his country in the United States Army. He studied with the Kingdom Hall in Rockford. He is survived by his wife, Kim; son, DuJuan Hitchcock; daughters, Kizzy (Antonio Freeman) Hitchcock and Leslie (Oscar) Williams; mother, Vanella Hitchcock; grandchildren, Sydney, Dustin, Najee, Sincere, Taroja, Honesty, DuJuan Jr., Oscar Jr., Amari and Caza; brothers, Tyrone, Audey (Rhonda), Anthony (Norma) and Novel; sisters, Faye Kimbrough, Veronica (Van) Sanders, Audrey Paton and Rosalind Hitchcock; mother-in-law, Betty (Gerald) Wilkins; brothers-in-law, Corey (Gail) Darnell and Steven (Sherry) Darnell; sister-in-law, Karen Darnell. He is predeceased by his father, Sidney Hitchcock; father-in-law, Harry Darnell; aunt, Patricia Dukes; and brother-in-law, Christan Darnell. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014, at the Christenson Funeral Home & Crematory, 925 3rd Ave., with Elder Ronnie Farris officiating. Cremation private.
