LEMULE DAVID DAWSON, 60 ROCKFORD - Lemule David Dawson, 60, of Rockford, passed away Monday February 17, 2014 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born July 26, 1953 in Bakersfield, CA, the son of Elisha and Wanda Dawson. Graduate of West High School, class of 73. He was in the US Army and served in the Vietnam War where he received the National Defense Service Medal Sharpshooter and four other service medals. Worked for Ello Furniture for over 23 years. Member of St Anthony Church. David was an Avid fisherman and hunter. Survivors include, his children Christina (Joe Cason) Dawson, Cheryl Dawson, Shiela (Matt) Erickson, Jamie (Holly) Dawson, Tim (Tracey) Dawson and Daniel (Eryn Peterson) Dawson; grandchildren, Matt, Justin, Steve, Katie, Andrew, Owen, Dave, Liz, Samantha, Alexis, Timmy, Alannah, Olivia, Chloe, Kannon, Jake, Peyton, Lucas and Isabella; great-grandchild, Dominic; sisters, Yvonne (Russell) Fagan, Anna (Glenn) Thompson, Wanda Dawson and Annette (Vernon) Hutchinson; special nieces and nephew, Paul Thompson, Kimberley Thimmig and Bailey Thompson; and many more nieces and nephews; special friends, Fritz, Lielah Mae and Roger Cox and family. Predeceased by his parents; son, David; and Brother, Douglas. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 in St Anthony Catholic Church with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, February 20, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 3910 N. Rockton Ave., with rosary at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family.
