PAMELA S. 'YELLOW HAMMER' JACKSON ROCKFORD - Pamela S. "Yellow Hammer" Jackson, of Rockford departed this earthly life Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, after a sudden illness. She was born Nov. 7, 1950, in Rockford; the daughter of Robert and Melva Nanetta Bell. Pamela married Wilmer Jackson on June 15, 1971; he preceded her in death. She was employed as a secretary by Midwest Newspaper for several years. She graduated from West High School, later to attend Rock Valley College receiving her teaching certificate. Pamela leaves to cherish many loving memories, daughters, Tasha (Ken) France, Dawn Jackson (Raymond Welch) and Carmille (William) Hill; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Robin Washington, Dauphne (Marion) Sims and Candace Bell; brothers, Michael Bell and Peter (Mary) Bell; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased also by her parents; son, Melvin "Vern" Jackson; granddaughter, Faith France; brothers, Olen Sr. and Bruce Bell. Service at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Providence Baptist Church, 2209 Clifton Ave., with visitation from 9 a.m. to time of service; Pastor Decarto Draper will officiate.
