ROBERT ALLEN DAVIS, 57 LOVES PARK - Robert Allen Davis, 57, of Loves Park, affectionately known as Bobby, departed this earthly life at 10:10 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, in the loving home of his sister, Elizabeth Kim and his brother-in-law, Barry D. Johnson. Born January 31, 1957, in Chicago to Sammy Davis, Jr. and Ruby Jean Bush. Bobby attended John Whistler Elementary School and Christian Fenger High School. In 1974, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp, he was honorably discharged March 3, 1976. Attended Kennedy King College and received training in GED services and Construction Technology. Bobby worked in roofing in the Chicago land area, Rockford, and Loves Park. Bobby was always ready to help others when they needed it. He would cut grass and clean snow for people unable to perform the tasks. He was also a great handy man and could fix most things. Bobby attended church at an early age and loved to sing in the choir. In 2014, Bobby accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized on Thursday, March 27, 2014, in State Street Church of Christ. Bobby enjoyed cooking barbeque for his family and friends, his food was delicious. Bobby enjoyed watching sports, and was a Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He leaves to cherish his precious memory to his loving father, Sammy Davis, Jr.; sister, Elizabeth Kim (Barry who he routinely called brother-in-law) Davis Johnson; brother, Gus (Augusta) Davis; stepsister, Luandra Stokes; nieces, Denise Kimberly Cole, Colina Elizabeth Cole, Raven Davis, Crystal Stokes; aunts, Rose Johnson, Jeannie; uncles, Johnny (Gladys) Bush, Otis (Bernadine) Bush; cousins, Nate, Mary, Jerome, Emma, Maple, Little Mae (boyfriend Larry), Dee, Little Nate, Osborn Curtis, Barbara Curtis, Willie Jackson; special friends/family, Rita "Doll Baby" Robinson, Twana "Lady T", Thomas, Anthony "Ant", Evelyn "Grove" Collins, Alice Fay, Elwood "Duck" Warwick, Gwen Spears, Fred "Bear" Taylor. Preceded in death by his mother, the late great Ruby Jean Bush Davis whose sunset was March 26, 1997, and favorite cousin, Peter Jackson. Home going celebration will be held from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, with eulogy delivered by Rev. Jean Dade-Batchie. Wake service will be held in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service.
