Sally Anderson

SALLY JILL ANDERSON, 67 ROCKFORD - Sally Jill (Carlson) Anderson, 67, of Rockford, died at 2:09 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Amberwood Care Center. Born March 14, 1946, in Rockford; the daughter of Burnell and Vivian (Melquist) Carlson. Baptized at First Lutheran Church and later confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church (OSLC), where she was a 50-year member. She sang under "Lindy" Lundstrum at church and at East High School, where she graduated in 1964. Sally loved all animals - turtles as a child, parakeets, mice, Rosey her pet rat, and her precious cat Sasha who was a close companion for 15 years. She worked at National Lock; then, after 26 years of raising children, began to lovingly care for others as a C.N.A. She is survived by her sons, Scott (Jola) Willis, Erik (Agnessa) Anderson, and Rev. Ryan H. Anderson; grandchildren, Katie and Hannah Willis, Marysia Omalecka, and Izabella Anderson; sister, Lynette (Benny) Vitale; nephew, Michael (Houry) Vitale and their children, Jessica and Emma; niece, Kristine Vitale; aunts and uncle, Dorothy and Bud Nicholas and Thelma Melquist; cousins, Dana Rogers (friend Bart), Donna (Jim) Linhart, Dale (Jan) Melquist, and Debbie (Barry) Maltby; and special friends, Ira Kamyar, Bruce and Maryanne Peterson, Dick Willis, and Barb and Wes Wiesland. Predeceased by her parents. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, March 22, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural St., with Pastor Jeff Fricke presiding.
