Velda Schoenrock

VELDA E. SCHOENROCK, 90 STILLMAN VALLEY - Velda E. Schoenrock, 90, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Neighbors Rehabilitation Center in Byron. She was born July 8, 1922, in Clinton, Minn., the daughter of Wallace and Alta (Schrader) Burdick. She married Mylo R. "Shorty" Schoenrock on Feb. 24, 1940, in Milbanks, S.D. Velda was a 53 year member of the Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley, where she was part of the O.S.C. Senior group, Deaconess Board, and served on the missions, wedding, and funeral committees. She was also a member of the Red Hats, and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge #796. Velda loved to play cards with her friends and family. She is survived by her children; Sharon Schoenrock of Ortonville, Minn., Lonna (Roland) Nelson of Stillman Valley, Larry (Jill) Schoenrock of Byron, Richard (Sherry) Schoenrock, Ronald (Kathy) Schoenrock, and Michael Schoenrock, all of Rockford; sister, Genevieve (Norm) Davis of Ortonville, Minn.; 30 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great- great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Shorty; daughter, Nancy Kauzlarich; grandsons, Brian, Michael and Dean; granddaughter, Valarie; and brothers, Dale and Gene. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley, with the Rev. Chris Brauns, pastor of the church officiating. Burial in Stillman Valley Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Road in Stillman Valley. A memorial fund is established in her name.
