VIRGINIA ANNETTE 'GINNY' CALLAHAN, 76 LOVES PARK - Virginia Annette "Ginny" Callahan, 76, of Loves Park died at 4:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, in Lifehouse Atrium Assisted Living, Rockford, after a lengthy illness. Born March 3, 1936, in Davis, the daughter of Harry and Helen (McKinson) Wise. She was employed by Olsen Terrace in Rockford, retiring in 2002. She attended Pecatonica High School and Rock Valley College. She was a 40 year member of Windsor Baptist Church, Loves Park. Ginny was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed reading, nature, bird watching, gardening, old movies and history. Ginny enjoyed music by the Beatles and Johnny Cash. Survivors include daughter, Theresa (Nathan) Byes of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; son, Michael William Callahan of Loves Park; stepchildren, Peggy Callahan of Las Vegas and Patricia Callahan of Peoria; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great- grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents; son, Gary Nathaniel Callahan; stepdaughter, Pamilia Bowman; sister, Harriet Wise; brother, Michael J. McKinson; and ex-husband, Loren Nathaniel Callahan. Funeral ceremonies at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in Windsor Baptist Church, 1115 Windsor Road, Loves Park, with the Rev. Kim Bodwell officiating. Burial in Pecatonica Cemetery, Pecatonica. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the church, and from 10 a.m. Saturday to time of ceremony. A memorial has been established to Windsor Baptist Church at the above address. Countryman Funeral Home, 529 Washington St., Pecatonica, assisted the family.
