Walter Schultz

WALTER SCHULTZ, 89 ROCKFORD - Walter Schultz, 89, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at his home of 44 years, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Minier, IL, to Walter and Lulu (Wagner) Schultz. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 14th Armored Division. He married Rose Anne King and they shared 62 years together until her passing in August 2012. Walter worked at Patten Industries for 40 years. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Moose Lodge for 50 years, American Legion Post 60, and Top of the Town Dance Club for 15 years. Walter enjoyed his time spent on the golf course. Survivors include children, Irene (Deke) MacPherson, Anne (Michael) Cannariato, Margaret Schultz and Lisa (David) Kelly; grandchildren, Nicholas (Megan) Cannariato, Maggie Cannariato, Matthew MacPherson, Eric Schultz, Andrea Schultz and Grace Kelly; brother, Eugene Schultz; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Schultz; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wife, Rose Anne; son, Wally Schultz. The family would like to thank Caregivers with a Heart, Help at Home and OSF Hospice for their compassionate care.
