WILBERT J. MAYER, 83 MACHESNEY PARK - Wilbert "Will" J. Mayer, 83, of Machesney Park died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born July 18, 1929, in Cecil, Wis., son of Joseph and Helen (Kannack) Mayer. Married LaVerna Boettcher on Oct. 7, 1950, in Zackow; she died June 4, 2005. Retired as co-owner of Jefco Screw Machine. Member of Concordia Lutheran Church and Loves Park Ambucs. Survivors include sons, Larry (Nancy) Mayer of Caledonia, Bruce (Carole) Mayer of Machesney Park and James (Edie) Mayer of Belvidere; grandchildren, Stephanie (Erik) Edlen of Elgin, Rachel (Tim) Thompson of South Beloit, Brian Mayer of Machesney Park, Brittany Mayer and Nicole Mayer of Belvidere, and Lance (Amanda) Mayer and Deana Mayer; great-grandchildren, Payton, Addison, Alex, Ayden and Alyssa; sister, Phyllis (John) Pollock of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; twin Mayer grandchildren; brother, Lloyd Mayer; and sister, Mavis Manard. Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 7424 N. Second St., with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Cecil. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
