WILFRED L. 'BILL' MURRAY, 89 LOVES PARK - Wilfred L. "Bill" Murray, 89, of Loves Park died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at P.A. Peterson Center for Health. Born Sept. 12, 1923, in Rockford, the son of Wilfred L. and Catherine (Nelson) Murray Sr. Graduate of West High School and the University of Houston School of Architecture with a B.S degree. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He married Julie Barber on July 16, 1946, in Madison, Wis. Bill was the operations director at CherryVale Mall for 38 years. He served as the Boy Scout director at Keith Country Day School for a number of years. Bill enjoyed traveling extensively throughout Europe and the world, and also to Florida each year, where he spent much of his time indulging in his favorite sport of fishing. He was a longtime member of the University Club of Rockford and also a member of Kiwanis. He is survived by wife, Julie; son, John Murray; grandchildren, Emilie Nika Murray of Denmark; one niece; and one nephew. Predeceased by son, William L. Murray; and brother, James P. Murray.
