I recently was informed that Jim had died; I have fond memories of him from our Guilford days, where, although he was one of the "popular ones", he treated everyone as though they were friends, and was generous with his time. At a party in 2015, he kindly "took charge" of my invalid mother and talked with her for more than an hour while I helped the hostess. The world would be a better place if there were more people like Jim.

I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to Amber and other family and friends. It's times like these when the loving promises of our Heavenly Father such as knowing that we can see our loved ones again can bring us comfort and soften some of the pain we feel in our hearts. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13,14

Everyone who knew Jim loved bowling with him, and we will always treasure our memories of our time with him. I bowled with Jim in the Friday morning league at Don Carter Lanes in the 1990s and, most recently, in senior king of the hill. He seemed so well on the road to recovery a few weeks ago that it was a shock to us to hear the news last Sunday. Jim was a wonderful man -- always, ALWAYS, in a good mood and enjoyable to talk to. I also look back on his love of the Cubs and the Chicago Bears, and, feel thankful that the Cubs -- at last! -- provided him (as well as millions of others) overwhelming joy last fall! Jim was a great man, a great bowler and someone I was proud and privileged to have called my friend!
