A. IRENE TITTSWORTH LANARK - A. Irene Tittsworth was born in Peoria, Illinois on Aug. 28, 1923. She was the daughter of Allen V. and Tessie Mae (Hayes) Longnecker. Irene attended Woodruff High School in Peoria and graduated from West High School in Rockford, IL in 1941. She spent a number of years in Vaudeville traveling the Orpheum Circuit with many well known entertainers. She worked at numerous companies in Rockford, which included Dixon Research which became Dixon Auto Tool, and Junior Achievement of Rock River Valley, IL. She was very active in the Lutheran Church in Rockford, Savanna, IL and Lanark, IL. In 1976, she became the administrative assistant to the Executive Director of Rolling Hills Progress Center in Lanark, where she worked and volunteered much of her time for the next 32 years. She retired at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Allen Vernon Longnecker, Jr.; and her son, Larry Albert. She is survived by three children, Neysa Bonnell, Karen Barraza (Dave), and Lee Tittsworth (Judy); nine grandchildren, Heather, Bryan, Francesca, Neysa, Amanda, Adam, Amy, Amber, and Angela; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who was dearly loved and will always be missed by those who know her. Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Lanark at the Trinity Lutheran; Rev. Philip Mathai will be officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Russell-Frank Funeral Home.
