I may be the very last to comment. This is still very hard for me to accept ,even after so many years. I worked with Al as a keyboard player and vocalist from 1980or so until 1988.I had to leave due to health problems.
Al was without question the funniest person I ever met . He was equally talented as a thinking persons musician. And Al had a way of making each of us better Men.
On the road with Al was an absolute scream. We worked very hard to get recognition in the music World. We rehearsed , got work . A lot of steady work. And we created music and Al the time we were also very comical. He and I would bat the outrageous silliness back and forth constantly. And it was also an education you could not get anywhere else in this World. Al may have been so dedicated to the work and all of the headaches that go along with it that it caught up to him . The level of stress in the music business is very intense . It is such a sad ending to someone who truly loved life , his family, and of course the music .
I miss Al very very much. I hope he is hanging out with Miles Davis and Clark Terry and a bunch of the great musicians that are no longer with us,and Als Mom and Dad, Kate and Joe and my folks.
I love him like a brother. And will someday get to see him again. May he continue to rest in peace

We were a large family woven into a loving and caring family that includes Stan, Jean, Allen and Susan. They became many things to us when we were just little girls playing in the leaves and hunting for Easter eggs. They were and are extended family and we love them so very deeply.
Recently Allen sent condolences to our family after my father’s death and in his note he wrote about kindness and a gentle nature. Simply stated, Allen would know a man who exhibited these qualities because he lived them.
To Kathie and Allen’s family we offer our deepest condolences and wish for you Peace in the days to follow. Gail Nebgen, Karen Goodell, Kris Blouin, Carol George, Mary Delafeld, Diane Nebgen and Kate Hopkins.

Allen was one of the first friends I made when we moved to Barrigton in 1964, probably because we were both in band together, and we both played 8th grade basketball at Hough Street School. He was cool. He was soft-spoken. He would go to bat for you. I'm so sorry he's no longer among the living, but, let us keep his memory in mind; let us keep his family in our prayers. Good by my friend, a saint, even unto the end.

My heart is feeling so much sadness right at the moment. My deepest sympathy to Al's family. This is a very sad time for so many of us that worked along side Al. I was fortunate to work with him in the early Jamtrak days. He was perhaps the funniest Man I have ever known. He was also a fine musician. And he was a fine human being ,taken from us all too soon. I will really miss him very much. There are some people that cross our paths in life that have a long lasting effect on us. And it may not be particularly tangable at the time . It is just the way they live their lives on a daily basis . He was just a beautiful guy. I love him.I miss him horribly, and I will never forget him. Right now ,I have his graduation picture,(w/ his WW1 pith helmet and his cat ), running through my head. That one always makes me smile. I know that is what he wants us all to do.Think of all of the hilarious stuff Al used to do. You have just got to smile. That is what he wants.

My condolences to Kathy Young, the Young family, the Capone family, and everyone else that was blessed to know Allen. I spent 5 years in Las Vegas working closely with Al and Jeep. I will always remember Al for his incredible musical talent, his sharp witted sense of humor, and one of the biggest hearts I have ever known. We all love and will miss you daddio!

My blessings to all of Al's family. Being one of the original members of "The Morning After", I have many wonderful memories of AL. He was an extreamly talented musican and a great guy. Although I had not seen Al in many years, I am thankfull I at least had the opportunity to speak to him fairly recently. Rest in peace my dear friend...Joe Macaluso (McHenry, IL)
