ARLENE PALMGREN, 84 ROCKFORD - Arlene Palmgren, 84, of Rockford died at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2011, in her home. Born March 4, 1927, in Rockford; the daughter of Carl E. and Florence (Johnson) Bladstrom. Graduate of East High School. She married Earl D. Palmgren on March 26, 1949; he died Feb. 16, 2002. Member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she participated in the Lydia Circle and the 1940 Confirmation Club. Survived by son, Dale E. Palmgren of Chandler, Ariz.; grandchildren, Teresa (Justin) Schroeder, Thomas (Dana) Palmgren and Carl Palmgren; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden, Ashton and Skylar Palmgren, and Nicholas, Nina, and Jacob Schroeder; and cousin, Carolyn (Herman) Nichels of Pleasanton, Calif. Predeceased by son, Carl E. Palmgren. Family wishes to thank Arlene's caregivers, Lisa and Linda, for their loving care.
