Beverly Porter Obituary

beverly j. porter ROCKFORD - Beverly J. Porter passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011. Born Feb. 1, 1929, in Belvidere to Herbert and Valeta (Paulson) Neufer. She married her high school sweetheart, Rex A. Porter Sr., on Nov. 19, 1945; he passed away April 3, 2009. They were blessed with 13 children, Jerry (Mary) of Wisconsin, Joel (Beth) of Texas, Jason, Rex Jr., and Aaron Porter of Rockford, Brian (Renee) of Rockton, Cynthia Bear of Florida, Pamela (Ron) Trybula of Wisconsin, Melissa (Frank) Kellenbeck of Montana, Debra (Curt) Anderberg of Machesney Park, Linda (Bob) Mancuso of Rockford, Teresa Porter and Sheila Blade, both of Machesney Park; sisters, Janice Nelson and Carole Zimmer of Belvidere and Delphine Voss (Wes) of Kingston; brother, Herb Neufer of Wyoming; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one due in December; and her precious dog, Lovie. Predeceased also by parents; sister, Audrey Bender; and granddaughter, Britney Porter. At Beverly's request, cremation rites accorded. Interment in Garden Prairie Cemetery. Family and friends please come and join us in a celebration of her life beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Porter home.

I worked with Beverly many, many years ago. She was such a sweet woman. I was newly married and she shared with me many recipes. I always think of her when I prepare those dishes.
