BOB F. COOK, 81 BELVIDERE - Bob F. Cook, 81, of Belvidere passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at SwedishAmerican Hospital, Rockford. Born Aug. 21, 1930, in Bloomfield, Mo., the son of Paul and Isabelle (Kline) Cook. Graduated from high school in Bloomfield. Bob served as a medic with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Stella G. McCoy on Dec. 10, 1977, in Garden Prairie. He worked in maintenance for the U.S. Postal service until retiring in 1993. Bob was a member of Garden Prairie United Church of Christ and served as trustee for 10 years. Former member of Moose Lodge 295. Survivors include his wife, Stella G. Cook of Belvidere; sons, Ronald (Melody) Cook of Brodhead, Wis., Randy (Gina) Cook of Fontana, Wis.; stepsons, Bob (Mary) Wilson of Belvidere, Mike (Janet) Verba of South Beloit; grandchildren, Brian (Ann) Wilson, Diana (Jay) Hamblock and Claudia Verba; great-grandchildren, Chase Hamblock, Cameron and Katie Wilson; brother, James (Molly) Cook of Cincinnati; and sister, Ruth Wilson of Chicago. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, J.P. Cook and Eldon Cook; and sister, Jewel Scott. Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Belvidere Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dale R. Beaman, pastor of Garden Prairie United Church of Christ officiating. Interment in Belvidere Cemetery. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, at the funeral home.
