CAROL J. (HOLMES) JOHNSON, 58 ROCKFORD - Carol J. (Holmes) Johnson, 58, of Freeport, formerly of Rockford, died Sunday, May 22, 2011. The beloved daughter of Robert P. and Mildred (Musselman) Holmes. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary of Freeport; loving sons, Rob and Kyle Johnson; sister, Susan (Wesley) Nelson; and brother, Bradley (Susan) Holmes. Private family graveside services were held in Arlington Memorial Park, with the Rev. Douglas Bowden of Beth Eden United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Minnesota Medical Foundation, 200 Oak St., SE No. 300, Minneapolis, MN 55455 (designate contributions to the Dr. David Sutherland Diabetes Research Fund), or in c/o the family, or Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford, IL 61104.
