Dorothy DeBo Obituary
DOROTHY M. DEBO, 84 WHITEWATER, Wis.-Dorothy M. DeBo, 84, formerly of Belvidere, Ill., passed away Tuesday June 21, 2011, at Provena Cor Mariae Center, Rockford, Ill. Born Sept. 23, 1926 in Moline, Ill., the daughter of Maur-ice and Maria (DeGraeves) Verplaetse. Married Maurice DeBo Oct. 1946 in East Moline, Ill. Dorothy was a homemaker. She moved to the Belvidere-Rockford area in 1957. Later she moved from Belvidere to Whitewater and wintered in Hobe Sound, Fla. A member of St. James Catholic Church, Belvidere. Also an active member at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Stewart, Fla. She was active in the Catholic Women's League. Dorothy loved children and raised foster children. Survivors include son, John (Halana) DeBo of Loves Park, Ill.; daughters, Sue (Russ) Lungstrom of Rockford, Jane DeBo of Braintree, Mass.; grandchildren, Melinda (Cory) Lucchesi, Mark (Jennifer) Lungstrom, Mitchell Lungstrom; great-grandchildren, Caden and Ava Lucchesi, Bryce Lungstrom. Predeceased by parents, husband in 1983; son, Markey; granddaughter, Maureen Lungstrom; brother, Walter; sisters, Alice and Marion. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday June 25, 2011, at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Brian A. Geary officiating. Interment in Highland Garden of Memories. Visitation Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Belvidere Funeral Home with Rosary to follow. Memorials to Catholic Charities or the Poor Clares of Rockford.
