Memories and Condolences

Not sure what to say?

I was so sorry to hear of your mother's death I enjoyed seeing her and talking to her. My mom Kathryn Messling and her seemed to have a good time together. My sister and I had planned to visit her again at her assisted living facilities, but circumstances did not work out. Thought about your mother and was glad we did get to see her last year.

What an amazing lady! Edith taught my dad and uncle, Walter and John (Jack) Pedley, at Leadmine school in 1935. I knew her for such a very short time but what a wealth of knowledge! The things that she could remember! She was very proud of her family and her grandchildren. I will miss my visits with her at Christmas. My deepest sympathies are with the Dall family. I am proud to say that Edith was my friend.

Mrs. Dall was the nicest lady in education.
She bought our class lunch at Pizza Hut, for collecting the most aluminum cans for charity.
I remember PVCS celebrating her 70th birthday.
My condolences.

My thoughts of Edith go back to my junior high years when she became a friend of my mother, Maureene Wendell. I remember her taking courses at NIU (late 1960s-early 1970s), letting me drive her VW when it was a really "Cool" thing to do for a 16-year-old (not being able to put it in reverse as it touched the garage door and had to be pushed back in place - her not saying a word), her still driving to Belvidere and Rockford to visit my Mom (99+) when she, herself, was in her 90s, and our long conversations by phone on several occasions over the past 2 years. My regret was not being able to visit her as scheduled when the snow storm hit this past winter. We always shared wonderful humorous moments. Although she was not my teacher or principal at any time, she was a remarkable person, someone who touched my life in a gentle way. I am thankful that she contibuted to my life.

My deepest sympathies to each of you.

My deepest sympathies to the Dall family! I was a student at Pleasant Valley where Mrs. Dall was principal. She was very nice to me and my family and I remember her like it was yesterday. She lived a long and fulfilling life. You are all in my prayers during this time as you celebrate her life.

We send our thoughts and prayers to Mrs. Dall's family. I taught 3rd Grade at Pleasant Valley in the early 80's. Both of our sons were students there, too. We shared Christmas cards over the years and always appreciated her love and guidance. May God be with you at this time of loss.

I want to send my deepest condolences and sympathies to Mrs. Dall's family. May God bless you during this time of loss.

I was a student at Pleasant Valley when Mrs. Dall was the principal. I spent a lot of time in her office because I was such a trouble maker. She was so patient with me, and always encouraged me to do better in my education and my relationship with Christ. I had a chance to visit her this past August. We talked for about two hours. She remembered me even after all of these years. I will truly miss her. She had an great impact on my life, and is one of the reasons that I am where I am today. I will truly miss her.

My sympathy to all of Edith's family. I got to know Edith very well as I work with The North Suburban Library and we provided her with books through our Homebound program. Edith was a joy and she absolutely loved to read. On my visits with her I so enjoyed listening to her speak of her life and her family. She was an amazing woman and I will truly miss her. My sympathy is with all of you.
