EVA KATALIN WILLIAMS-LAIRD, 74 ROCKFORD - Eva Katalin Williams-Laird, 74, of Rockford passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, in her Chicago home. She was born Sept. 29, 1938, in Romania, and lived her childhood in Hungary; she was the daughter of Carl and Maria (Marton) Igloi. Eva graduated from Rockford East High School. Eva is survived by husband, Christopher Laird; children, Wayne Williams of Portland, Ore., and Debbie (Mark) Gaffney of Boulder, Colo.; grandchildren, Angela, Michelle and John Gaffney; brother, Karl (Kiri) Igloi; nieces, Sarika Igloi and Amy Matsuno; cousins, Csopi and Laci Marton; nephew, Peter Marton; niece, Marta DeForge; special friends, Vida Skorburg, Elizabeth Bole, Marissa Bernachea, Janet Dixon, David Greenlee and Anthony Flowers; and her beloved dogs, Pooh Bear and Taz. Eva Williams-Laird was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Williams. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will start with a gathering at 5:30 p.m. and services begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Rockford Art Museum, 711 N. Main St., Rockford. Private interment in Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials sent to Rockford Art Museum or Rockford Symphony Orchestra, 711 N. Main St., Rockford, IL 61103.
