Frank Navarro Obituary

Frank R. Navarro, 84 ROCKFORD - Frank R. Navarro, 84, of Rockford died at 3:19 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born May 7, 1927, in Davis Junction, the son of Ricardo and Antonio (Medina) Navarro. After graduating high school, he served proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Victoria Rose Huitzacua on Dec. 31, 1948; she died Feb. 4, 1987. He later married Lucy L. Kiesow on Sept. 16, 1995. He worked for Elco Industries for more than 40 years and worked for Excel Gear. Frank was a member of St. Patrick Church, VFW Roscoe Post 2955, Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, St. Ambrosia, White Eagle, American Legion and Navy Club. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; children, Phillip (Kimberly) Navarro, Patricia "Pat" (Virgil) Short, Richard (Vickie) Navarro, Victoria "Babe" (Curtis) Minert, Jacqueline Lee (Sam) Schuur, Stephanie (Don Lund) Seay, and Jeff (Jen Burnell) Seay; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ricardo, Robert, Eleanor Kane, Antonia "Toni" Crosser, Angie Cash and Nancy Hogan; and a special work friend, Leon. Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford St., Loves Park, with visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m. The Rev. Burt Absalon will officiate. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 23, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., North Main Chapel, 2811 N.
