To the family of Gladys Damby. I was privileged to know Gladys during her stay at Wesley Willows. I worked in Kirk's Place. She lived in another unit then but would come by to visit with us and our residents. She was such a sweet, gracious and lovely lady. May you find comfort in precious memories of her. Lois Payne

Dear Scott and Peter, My condolences on the passing of your mother. Tootie was a joy to know. How fortunate you were to have such an exuberant mother! I remember dining out at the Red Lobster with my mom, Fran, Josie and Tootie way back when. What a great time I had sharing her laughter. She came to my mother's funeral and showed pictures from her latest adventure parasailing in Mexico. Her laughter and love will live on in you. As time passes may you find peace and love in your memories of her.

To the Damby Family. Sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Mrs. Damby from Julia Lathrop School, many many years ago. She would always talk to me when i had to go to the office. I was always respectful to her, and she was so nice to me. I no longer live in Rockford, but i was checking the Obits and seen her name. I had to submit this to the family. My prayers are with you all.

I enjoyed Gladys very much. I was one of her visiting teachers, from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gladys wasn't active in our church for many years, but we still enjoyed her company. She told me about teaching primary in a home, during the early days of the church in Rockford. She said they used every room in the house for classes, for the children.

Tootie was my neighbor growing up on Melrose Street. Her and Pete were always so good to my family and I. I haven't seen her in quite some time, to hear about this loss makes me very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time of loss.
