GLADYS 'MARGRET ELLEN' L. HUNTER, 75 ROCKFORD - Gladys "Margret Ellen" L. Hunter, 75, of Rockford died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center after a long illness. She was born Aug. 4, 1937, in Athens, Ala., daughter of Elmo Rainey and Lyla Dawson. She lived in Rockford 58 years, coming here from Athens. She married Franklin Hunter in October 1993. Employed as a machine operator for Arnold Engineering in Marengo. She was a member of Living Faith Tabernacle and member of the Eastern Star. Attended schools in Athens. Gladys leaves to cherish many loving memories her husband; two sons, James Anderson Bennett and Derwin Ray Bennett; one daughter, Ivory (Fred Brown) Bennett; eight grandchildren, Kerry Everett, Yolanda (David Mangruem) Bennett, Richard Bennett, Demetrius (Amanda) Bennett, Lashunda Bennett, Douglas Jones, Tianna Gill and Arnetta Wax; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Willie Rainey of Birmingham, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents; one daughter, Valerie Everett; grandson, Malcolm Everett; two sisters, Elizabeth Evans and Mary Rainey; three brothers, Jonny L. Jones, Winifred Fletcher and Thomas Horton. Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Carle E. Ponds Funeral Home, with visitation from 9 a.m. to service time; Pastor Miller of Living Faith Tabernacle will officiate. Arrangements by Carl E.
