Hedvig H. Johnson, 97 ROCKFORD - Hedvig H. Johnson, 97, of Rockford passed away Friday, May 13, 2011, in Fair Oaks. Born Sept. 5, 1913, in Standard, the daughter of Hans P. and Margretha (Hansen) Hjort. Married Melvin J. Johnson on Sept. 9, 1937, in Granville; he died Nov. 2, 1993. Longtime member of St. John United Methodist Church before joining Beth Eden United Methodist Church. Longtime volunteer at River Bluff Nursing Home. She enjoyed her home and traveling, a dedicated caregiver to her husband and always supported her families activities. Survivors include her sons, Herbert H. (Lois) Johnson of Machesney Park and Richard M. (Elizabeth) Johnson of St. Louis; grandsons, Timothy H. (Julia) Johnson of Rockton, Randall S. Johnson of Rockford, Jeffrey Johnson of Florida and Gregory (Amy) Johnson of St. Louis; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Nina, Katrina Hjort, Jamie Lynn, Ellie Grace and William Gregory, Matthew Kar and Lotte Lizabeth; sister-in-law, Sadie Shirland. Predeceased by parents; and sisters, Agnes Carlson and Dagmar Reynolds. Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. The Rev. Douglas Bowden and the Rev.
