JANE BLACK, 91 ROCKFORD - Jane Black, 91, of Rockford, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, in River Bluff Nursing Home. Born Nov. 5, 1921, in Battle Creek, Mich.; the daughter of Charles and Rose (Park) Isaacson. She married Dr. Jay G. Black in March 1947, in Beloit, Wis. He predeceased her Jan. 5, 1985. She was a former member of Riverside Community Church. Jane was a wonderful seamstress and cook, and she enjoyed knitting. She is survived by her children, Lynn Akins of Schiller Park, Ill., Rosy (Jean) Eckhardt of Loves Park, Chuck (Pam) Black of Machesney Park, and Bruce Black of Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandchildren, Christina, Erin, Kelly, Jason, Tim, Jaime, and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Jake, Isla, Sam, Tom, Joey, Brooke, Kaiya, and Brody; and nephew, Bill Strong. Predeceased by son-in-law, Bill Akins. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main St., with Pastor Bobby Sheets officiating. Burial in Rockton Cemetery. Visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the service in the funeral home.
