Dear Heffner and Holt families,
I am still in shock of hearing of Krista's passing. I first met her when she was volunteering at Oak Grove during hot lunch. I can still see DJ's face light up when he saw her in his school. She spoke of DJ and Mary constantly with pride and love. She was always willing to listen and give freely of herself. She truly loved her family and cared for so many others. She will be deeply missed by many. Find comfort in your precious memories.

Krista, I am still in shock as I am certain many others who loved you are. I keep coming back here wanting to write, but continually find myself at a loss for words & what to say. You were truly one of the kindest, most gentle, loving, caring souls I have known. DJ & Mary were so lucky to have you as their mom; you were dedicated to your family & sacrificed so much for them. What a fighter you were both times against cancer & I am so sorry it had to happen to you too. I hold so many conversations about life & cancer with you in my heart. You are gone too soon & I am so sad for you. You are already so missed & I will remember you always- my Yngwie

I am so very sorry for your loss. Krista and I knew each other as teenagers passing in the church halls. This past Christmas, she came up to me and asked if it was me...she was so bubbly and full of life and love for her family. We had not seen each other in 20 years and she was friendlier than ever. God bless you all! Natalie (Lease) Collins

I am deeply saddened to have learned of Krista's passing. DJ was a memorable student in my first grade class at Oak Grove School. I always admired the concern and involvement DJ's parents shown in his behalf. I hope Krista's memory serves as a blessing to her entire family. -Steve Bragman, Northbrook illinois

Dave,D.J,Mary and Mr.& Mrs. Holt,
I was so saddened to learn of Krista's passing. In the years that D.J. was a Sedol student, I was his social worker and saw everyday the love and support Krista gave unconditionally to her children. May you all find strength in the memory of this brave young woman who asked nothing more than to protect and love her dear family.

Dave,
Over the years I have spent a lot of time talking to Krista. She was always so pleasant and sweet; she never was anything but kind to all of us in the pharmacy. She would ask me about my kids and her eyes lit up when she talked about yours. I cannot tell you how sorry I am that this has happened. I am just someone that she talked to once in a while and I have been so affected by her passing, I can't even imagine what your family is going through. I do know that your children have the best guardian angel watching over them and that there is one less light shining here on Earth.

Dave, Carol & Ken, I never met Krista but we spoke several times. Her constant upbeat spirit during her tremendous challenges was inspiring. I hope your memories of her strength, kindness and amazing spirit will help ease the pain during this impossible time. Diane Sutton
