LINDA F. JORDAN-CARTHELL ROSCOE - Linda F. Jordan-Carthell, of Roscoe, departed this earthly life Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. She was born Nov. 9, 1954, in Rockford, the daughter of Shellie and Etta Jordan. Linda married Thomas Carthell on Aug. 16, 1989, in Rockford. She was self-employed by Carthell's Renovation Service since 1995. She was social worker and provided quality care for patients at Crusader Clinic for three years. Linda was a member of St. Luke M.B. Church and attended Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with her husband. She graduated from Auburn High School later to receive her associates degree in business at Rockford Business College and attended Rock Valley College. Linda, leaves to cherish many loving memories, her devoted husband, Minister Thomas; daughters, Michelle Jordan, Mechole "CoCo" Sledge, Lanita Marks; son, Eric (Shandra) Marks; five stepchildren; 10 grandchildren; 26 step grandchildren; sisters, Bernice (Cornelius) Washington, Veronica Gray (J.B.), Sandra (Jeff) Dickens and Vickie Macklin; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Shelline Williams; brother, Gregory Jordan; grandson, Jayden Marks; and stepson. Service at noon Friday, Feb. 15, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2919 19th St., with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State St.
