Lois Mongan Obituary

LOIS P. MONGAN, 89 MOUNT MORRIS - Lois P. Mongan, 89, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, in Pinecrest Manor. Born Aug. 28, 1921, in Mount Morris, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Rambough) Diehl. Graduated from Mount Morris High School, Class of 1939. Married Harry Horton on May 19, 1942; he died in 1976. She then married Forrest "Tack" Mongan on Aug. 28, 1978, and was married until his death Feb. 1, 2006. She was employed at Kable News Co., and Felker Pharmacy, retiring in 1993 after 45 years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Ladies Auxiliary of Mount Morris, American Legion and VFW. Lifetime member of the community. Survived by sisters, Rosie Egland of Menifee, Calif., and Marcia Hill of Rochelle; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased also by her parents; brother, Donald Diehl; and sisters, Betty Martinson and Minnie Burke. Service at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, at Finch Funeral Home, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time; the Rev. Steven Erickson will officiate. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Dixon. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Wing at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mount Morris.

one of my best times when living in mt.morris
many years ago, was to go into felkers pharmacy, get what I needed, then talk to lois, what a pleasure!! she would help make my day!! such a sweet lady, I am sure GOD will wecome her home!
