Lynne McGarry Obituary
Lynne McGarry 1956—2018
Lynne McGarry, 63, of Byron passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at OSF Medical Center in Rockford. Lynne was born June 13, 1955, in Highland Part, MI, the daughter of George and Evelyn (Vincent) Greiner. She married Bob McGarry on October 19, 1983, in Troy, Michigan. Her life's work was loving her family and caring for others. She was a superb matriarch and wonderful cook who brought joy, satisfaction, and togetherness to every meal. Her greatest accomplishment was bringing into this world four happy, successful boys, and a beautiful, joyful, and loving daughter. We thank you. She did all of this with the love, partnership, and loyalty from her husband, Bob, the caring, compassionate, and generous patriarch of our family. We love and thank you. She brought joy and surprise to all those she met by giving the gift of her handmade angels. If you have one, treasure it and think kindness. She was skillful at games and an avid reader. She loved to laugh, was funny, and intelligent. Lynne is survived by her husband, Bob McGarry of Byron; sons, Nathan (Carrie) Spencer of Dryden, MI, Nicholas (Michelle) Spencer of White Lake, MI, George Greiner (Cheryl Tymonko) of Travelers' Rest, SC, and RJ (Ashley) McGarry of Byron; sister, Sandy Greiner of Roscommon, MI; and grandchildren Jackson, Nolan, Landen, Penelope, Cooper, Mason, Owen, and Keelin. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn; sister Carol Tapner, and daughter, Meg.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 21st, at the United Church of Byron Fellowship Hall. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nature Conservancy.
