Philip Egan

Philip p. Egan, 72 MOUNT MORRIS - Philip Patrick Egan, 72 , died June 30, 2012, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Phil was born July 25, 1939, in Mount Morris, the son of George & Eva (Foley) Egan. Phil graduated from Mount Morris High School in 1957. Phil married Kay Hovis on Oct. 17, 1959, in Oregon, Ill. He was employed at Kable Printing Co. for 44 years, retiring in 2001. Phil was a member of the GCIU. Phil loved spending time with his family and along the river. Phil is survived by his wife, Kay Egan, Mount Morris; son, Mike Egan, Mount Morris; daughter, Lynda (Ron) Alden, Rockford; granddaughters, Erin Alden, Rockford, and Ashley (Jeremy) Khemmanivong, Rockford; sisters, Margie Johnson, Oregon, Dolores Goley, Byron, and Patsy (Ed Tuttle) Franz, Lodi, Wis.; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Bill "Rusty" Egan; sisters, Maryalice Fletcher and Ellen Toms. A special thanks to Dr. Marks for all his care an compassion; and to all the staff at Rockford Memorial Hospital who were involved in his care. Services will be Tuesday July 3, in Finch Funeral Home, 405 E. Hitt, Mount Morris, with Father Thomas Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Mount Morris. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10a.m. until service time in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials to Ogle County Hospice.
