RAYMOND WALTER MOORE, 90 BYRON - Raymond Walter Moore, 90, a lifelong Byron resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, in his home. He was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Byron; the son of James and Frieda (Moth) Moore. He married Genavieve Gustin on Nov. 25, 1950, in Rockford; she died in 2008. Ray farmed in the Byron area and also worked at Barker Lumber Co., and the Byron Forest Preserve District. He was a veteran and enjoyed hunting, gardening and morel mushroom hunting. Survivors include daughters, Virginia (Mack) Wilson of Louisiana, Susan (David) Allvord of Monroe Center and Rhonda Rush of Byron; grandchildren, Stephanie, Jamie, Lisa, David Jr., Renea, Ryan and Daniel; and 12 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by son, Dennis Ray; grandson, Raymond Wilson; sisters, Berdina Diedrich, Mildred Moore and Gladys Moore; and brothers, Russell and Lewis. Service at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant St., Byron, with the Rev. Randy Snider will officiate. Burial in Byron Cemetery.
