Richard H. "Dick" Adcock 1934—2018
Richard H. "Dick" Adcock, 84, Rockford, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born March 4, 1934, in Decatur, the son of Harold and Russie (Jackson) Adcock. Dick married Myrt Dulaney in Decatur on September 5, 1954. He was a past member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. He was a salesman for office furniture companies in the Rockford area. Dick loved music and was an accomplished drummer, playing in the Dave Remington Quartet and played at the Inaugural Ball for President Richard Nixon. His favorite singer was Frank Sinatra and he had an extensive collection of Sinatra and other music. Dick was an avid reader, a loyal Illini fan, an avid Packer fan, and enjoyed golfing. He loved animals, especially his Irish Setter, "Marnee." Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Myrt; children, Rick Adcock and Sue (Jeff) Schrieber, both of Rockford; grandchildren, Danielle and Grace Schrieber; sister, Barbara Hill of Decatur; and special nephew, Jerry Dulaney. Predeceased by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Burial at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Noah's Ark, 111 N. 1st St., Rockford, 61107.
