Ronald Arthur Molzan Sr. 1932—2018
Ronald Arthur Molzan Sr., 85, of Rockford Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2018, in Bradenton, Florida. Ron was born October 19, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, raised in Chicago until his family relocated to Long Beach, Indiana where he met and married Mary Ann Dennis-Club of New Buffalo, Michigan and had three children, Ronda and Ron Molzan, and stepdaughter, Denise Club. He worked beside his father in the restaurant and real estate development business throughout most of his young adult years. He married his second wife, Mary (Martin) Molzan on May 29, 1967, and settled in Rockford, Illinois where they had their daughter, Tamara. He was a fun loving Christian man that enjoyed his travels to all 50 states with his loving wife, Mary and daughter, Tammy, along with sharing time with his grandchildren. He was a philanthropist for the Moody Bible Institute, and for The Rockford Rescue Mission. Ron was a restaurateur, entrepreneur and real estate enthusiast. He enjoyed reminiscing about his restaurant career and was very proud to be the 2nd and 3rd Kentucky Fried Chicken (recipe only) franchises that were incorporated into his restaurants, where he worked directly with Col. Sanders in the Colonels start up years. He continued his passion for real estate in Rockford by renovating and rejuvenating homes. After retiring from the Rockford school systems Dad enjoyed his seasonal homes in Grand Haven, Michigan and Bradenton, Florida. He is predeceased by both wives, Mary Ann and Mary. He is survived by his 3 children, daughter, Ronda (Craig) Clair of Goshen IN, son, Ronald A Molzan II of Long Beach IN, and daughter, Tamara (Mark) Zimmerman of Grand Haven MI; 5 grandchildren, Dustyn, Clayton, Mallory, Jessica, and Ashley.
Visitation and lunch will be Saturday, September 15, 2018, at The Highland Garden of Memories Chapel, 9800 Rte. 76, Belvidere, IL 61008, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with burial immediately following at The Highland Garden of Memories Cemetery (same location), lunch will be held at Ron and Mary's favorite Swedish restaurant, The Stockholm Inn, 2420 Charles St, Rockford IL 61108.
