Ronald McCormick Obituary

RONALD G. MCCORMICK, 57 LAC DU FLAMBEAU, Wis. - Ronald G. McCormick, 57, of Lac Du Flambeau, formerly of Poplar Grove, Ill., passed away Monday, April 16, 2012, in his home, surrounded by his family, after a short illness. Born June 11, 1954, in Evansville, Ind.; the son of the late Boyd (Whitey) and Wanda McCormick. Ron graduated from Belvidere (Ill.) High School and received his bachelors of science from the Industrial Engineering College of Chicago. He worked at Arnold Engineering and for Chrysler upon retiring in 2004. Ronald married Gwen A. Johnson on July 11, 1972. He was a member of the Moose Club and served as a school board member of North Boone Community School District. He held a U.S. patent, was a Northern Illinois Blood bank donor, coached little league baseball and flag football and loved to hunt, fish and golf. Ron cared deeply for his family and friends and would never hesitate to help them however he could. Upon retirement, Ron and Gwen built their dream home together. Survived by wife, Gwen of Lac Du Flambeau; sons, Tracy McCormick of Appleton and Nathan McCormick of Harvard, Ill.; grandchildren, Mitchell and Mason of Poplar Grove, Ill., and Khovel of Harvard; brothers, Tony (Linda) of California and Arthur "Keith" (Joy) of Belvidere; sisters-in-law, Mindy (Scott) Peterson, Bindy Johnson and Theresa (Ed) Gustafson; brother-in-law, Mark Johnson; mother-in-law, Beverly Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family. Online condolences may be shared at bolgerfuneral.com.

Aunt Gwen, I am so saddened at the loss of such a great man. He was really the only uncle that I ever saw I appreciated him so much for the wealth of knowledge he possessed. We all miss him and love him. We all love you and hope that you can find peace in this difficult time.

GWEN, MY CONDOLENCES TO YOU ON YOUR LOSS. I REMEMBER RON SITTING ON STAGE PLAYING THE DRUMS AT THE COMMUNITY BUILDING IN BELVIDERE FOR THE DANCES IN THE EARLY 70'S WITH THE BAND(RAVEN BLACK). HE WAS A GOOD PERSON. GLAD THE TWO OF YOU MET.HE WILL BE MISSED.
