ROSE 'ROADY' JONES, 88 ROCKFORD - Rose "Roady" Jones, 88, of Rockford departed this earthly life Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Rosewood Nursing Home, after a long illness. She was born Dec. 16, 1923, in Linden, Ala., the daughter of Jack and Mary Doss. She lived in Rockford more than 40 years, coming from Mobile, Ala. Rose was a member of Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church, serving in the choir and on the Mothers Board. She attended schools in Alabama. Rose leaves to cherish many loving memories, sons, Otis (Rose), Edward (Clarissa), Fred (Tonya) and Lamont (Tamika) Jones; daughters, Mary Jones, Annice Knight and Ethel (Clifford) Woodfork; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; five great-great- grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents; brothers, John R. Chaney and Willie Doss; sisters, Mamie Roberts and Carrie Knight; grandsons, Carl Knight and Otis Jones Jr.; and great- granddaughter, Jamez. Special thanks to Northern IL Hospice, Allen Chapel Church family and granddaughter, Jaleesa Woodfork. Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Allen Chapel AME Church, 3000 Rural St., with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements completed by Carl E.
