Ruth Jobe Obituary

RUTH I. JOBE, 94 ROCKFORD - Ruth I. Jobe, 94, of Rockford died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011, in Provena St. Anne Center. Born Nov. 3, 1916, in Ramsay, Mich., daughter of William and Ida Bray Wills. Married Martin L. Jobe on Dec. 24, 1940, in Ironwood, Mich.; he died July 1, 1984. Member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and former member of Grace United Methodist Church. Retired in 1979 from Testor Corp., where she had been employed for 25 years. Ruth was an energetic, kind and loving woman. She cared deeply for her family and they were always the most important thing in her life. Survivors include son, Dennis M. (Trish) Jobe; daughter, Judi (Steven) Ewers; grandchildren, Matt (Pam) Jobe and Jodie (Trey) Sackowitz, Chelsea (William) Collins and Robert Ewers; great-grandchildren, Addilyn, Chase, Carson, Brady and Dean; and sister-in-law, Willadeen Richards. Predeceased also by her parents; infant son, Lawrence M. Jobe; sisters, Rachel Hansen, Rhoda Hanson, Violet Stella, Eleanor Puntis; and brothers, Leonard Wills and William Wills. The family would like to thank the staff of Provena St. Anne Center for the compassionate care extended to Ruth, and a very special thank you to Jeannie Rae who always took excellent care of her. Service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with the Rev. Thomas Hardwick officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, in the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. Friday to time of service. Express condolences and share memories at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.

Judy and Family, I am very sorry to hear about you mom. I know this is a hard time and I do understand the loss of a parent. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. She was a spunky lady and know she will be missed. It may give you some comfort to know they are all together again, probably playing cards.
