SCOTT E. BLISS, 53 ROCKFORD - Scott E. Bliss, 53, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at his home, after a long battle with MS. A light in our lives has gone out. Born August 25, 1960, in Rockford to Eddie and Beverly Bliss. He was a competitor swimmer for Harlem and into his college years. Scott graduated from ISU and worked as an architectural safety consultant for Midas. He had a love and appreciation for the outdoors and was an avid sportsman and a member of Ducks Unlimited. He was funny, caring and kind. His only son, Jake was the love of his life, he lived for Jake. Survivors include his parents; son, Jake Bliss; Jake's mom, Charmaine; aunts and uncles; special friends, Deb France, Rick Kluver, Doug Bruno and Marie McBride; and many other good friends. The family extends their gratitude to all his caregivers; Charmaine, his primary caregiver, CJ, Hannah, Rachael, and Talley. Scott was provided great comfort by his dogs, Charlie, and deceased companions, Bruiser and Booner. A celebration of life service from 11 to 11:30 a.m. with a luncheon following until 1 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Heartland Community Church, 1280 S. Alpine Rd., Rockford, IL.
