SHARON LUCILLE DE WITT MACHESNEY PARK - Sharon Lucille De Witt of Machesney Park, IL passed away suddenly of natural causes at her home, Friday November 9, 2012. Sharon was born August 2, 1951, in Postville, Iowa, the daughter of Dwight and Ellen (Finegan) DeWitt. She graduated from Rock Valley College, Rockford, with a degree in machine design technology and was working on her engineering degree at Northern Illinois University at the time of her passing. Sharon worked in the Rockford area since 1976 and loved her jobs and fellow workers. She is survived by her daughter, Katelynn De Witt (her Pride and Joy) of Newark, NJ; sisters, Barbara (Rex Landers) Evans and Karen (Dave) Reeder; brother, Carl (Judy) DeWitt; sister-in-law, Karen De Witt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Dwight and Ellen De Witt and brother, Anthony De Witt. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Christenson Funeral Home & Crematory, 925 3rd Ave. Cremation rites private. Sharon is deeply loved.
