Shelley Barthelman Obituary

SHELLEY G. (CLARK) BARTHELMAN, 58 ROCKFORD - Shelley G. (Clark) Barthelman, 58, of Rockford departed her life peacefully at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, surrounded by her family. Born March 24, 1952, the daughter of Donald and Susan Clark. Shelley lived all of her life in Rockford. Graduated from Harlem High School. Shelley loved spending time with family, friends and her cocker spaniels. She enjoyed working in her garden and doing crafts. Had fun playing bingo and going on bus trips with her friends. Member of the Lithuanian Club. Shelley was a wonderful wife, daughter, mother, nana, sister and friend. She will be missed by everyone. Survived by husband, Daniel; daughter, Camy Mueller; grandson, Michale Mueller; granddaughter, Julia Mueller; son, Gregory Mueller; brother, Steven (Linda) Clark; sister, Stephanie (Richard) Gorkowski; stepdaughter, Danielle (David) Peterson; stepson, Ryan Barthelman; several nieces and nephews, and her baby, Chelsey. Predeceased by father, Donald Clark; sister, Sharon Johnson; and brother, Dennis Lindaas. Special thank-you to OSF Cancer Center, OSF Hospital, and OSF Hospice for your care. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, in Cathedral of St. Peter, with Father Argyaswamy Lakkineni officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, in Gasparini & Oliveri Funeral Home, 707 Marchesano Drive, with rosary recited at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm so glad you included her maiden name in the announcement. I met and was friends with Shelly back in high school and soon found out she was a 3rd cousin. Strangely enough I was just thinking about her recently and wondering what had become of her. Best wishes and prayers to all she touched.

Camy, Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your Mother. My fondest memory of Shelley will be the fun we had in the 60's water sking on Rock River. Cook outs by the pool on Theodore with both Shelley and Sharon wanting those hot dogs burned to a crisp. Now I can feel her up in heaven with Sharon and Elaine. Looking down at us and laughing.
