SHIRLEY MAE FANIS, 79 LOVING AND DEVOTED MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER AND GREAT-GRANDMOTHER ROCKFORD - Shirley Mae Fanis, 79, of Rockford departed from her physical life on the morning of Monday, May 2, 2011, after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of Arthur H. and Ruth B. (Metcalf) Olsen. Married to Billy M. Fanis. Survivors include her daughters, Deborah, Karen and Kim; son, Gregg; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Edith and Betty; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, and husband. Private services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane.
