STEVEN DEWAINE DOBBS, 54 HAMPTON BEACH, N.H. - Steve Dobbs passed away on April 19, 2013, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, after a lengthy illness. Steve was born on August 16, 1958, in Winnebago , IL, the son of Orval and Juanita (Painter) Dobbs. He graduated from Winnebago High School in 1976 and spent part of his adult life in his hometown. In his youth, he loved riding horses like his father and working on cars. He most recently lived in New Hampshire with his wife Mary Jane for past 12 years. Steve worked most of his life as an operator and technician for mechanical engineering companies, including Ingersoll in the 1980s and 90s, and most recently for Synventive in Massachusetts. He loved living by the water and fishing with his friends and family. He would often host summer cook outs by the pool for all of the residents of his beach resort complex and was known for his spicy jambalaya. He was a loyal NASCAR follower, always hoping Mark Martin would finally win a championship. Steve is survived by his wife, Mary Jane of Hampton Beach, New Hampshire; mother Juanita of Winnebago; daughter Emily (Greg) Keilback of Winnebago; son John (fiancée, Mallory) of Snellville, Georgia; stepdaughter Emily Roberts of Hopedale, Massachusetts; stepson Owen (Jessica) Roberts of Terre Haute, Indiana; grandsons Ely Keilback and Keegan Williams and granddaughters Elizabeth Shelton and Claire Roberts; sister Cathy (Raymond) Driussi; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by his father Orval and Uncle Larry. Special thanks to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Steve was an organ donor, so that his life may go on to benefit someone in need. Cremation services provided by New Hampshire Cremation Society; memorial service may follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the family.
