Sue Pinson Obituary

Sue E. Pinson, 95 BELOIT, Wis. - Sue E. Pinson, 95, of Beloit died Thursday, June 9, 2011, in her residence. Sue Ella Smith was born Jan. 7, 1916, in Ecru, Miss., to Charlie and Emma (Beecham) Smith. Sue married Nimrod Pinson on Nov. 30, 1935, in Ecru. She was employed in the housekeeping department at Beloit College for more than 30 years. Sue was a member, for more than 65 years, of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Beloit, where she was a former church secretary, sang in the choir, served in the mission department, helped with the community lunch program and served on the mother's board. She was a member and past worthy matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, Rebecca Chapter 4 in Beloit. Sue is survived by her daughter, Ruby Williams of Rockford, Ill.; son, Charles Pinson of Beloit; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Icesolene Williams of Milwaukee; former daughter-in-law, Walterine Pinson of Beloit; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends and her Emmanuel Baptist family. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Dorothy Sanders; sister, Mattie Pearl Foster; and sons, John Pinson and L.C. Pinson. Home-going celebration at noon Tuesday, June 14, in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1151 E. Grand Ave., with visitation one hour beforehand. Visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 13, in Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect St. Committal in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, Ill.
